Open Access at the ZfL

As a member of the Leibniz Association and a signatory of the Berlin Declaration on Open Access to Knowledge in the Sciences and Humanities, the Center for Literary and Cultural Research, Berlin supports free access to publicly funded research findings on the internet.

Gold Open Access

Since 2022, the ZfL issues the open access book series “Literatur- und Kulturforschung” [Literary and Cultural Studies] at Wallstein Verlag (gold open access, i.e. primary publication in open access). Selected other monographs and edited volumes, e.g., from August Verlag and de Gruyter, are also openly accessible upon publication. Also, the online publication series Interjekte, the e-journal Forum Interdisziplinäre Begriffsgeschichte (FIB), and the contributions to the ZfL BLOG are published in gold open access.

Green Open Access

In conjunction with the Wilhelm Fink Verlag and the Kulturverlag Kadmos, and with the authors’ permission, certain articles from conference proceedings as well as edited volumes have been made available to Open Access on the publication server CompaRe two years after primary publication (Green Open Access).

ZfL Publications on the Publications Server CompaRe

The ZfL, in cooperation with the Specialized Information Services for general and comparative literature (FID AVL) at the University Library Frankfurt a.M., provides many research results without financial, technical or legal barriers on the publication server CompaRe. The repository is continuously updated.
